Tax Investigation Service
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) may enquire into anyone’s tax affairs at any time. These enquiries are outside the scope of regular accountancy fees and the cost for even relatively straightforward enquiries can run into several thousand of pounds.
We at Farrant Frost have been looking into ways of insuring against the cost of these fees in the event of an enquiry, protecting you and enabling us to fight your corner with HMRC.
We provide a dedicated Tax Investigation Service for our clients. This also includes a legal help line which you can call free of charge, 24 hours a day to obtain advice on all aspects of the law as it affects your business, available to all subscribers immediately once you sign up.
Our insurance policy will pay our costs for those clients who subscribe to our service for dealing with:
- HMRC Full Enquiries
- HMRC Aspect Enquiries
- HMRC VAT disputes
- HMRC PAYE & NIC disputes
We strongly urge all our clients to subscribe, effectively avoiding the need to take out individual insurance policies, which can cover similar costs but not necessarily allow us to defend you.
Cover starts at just £90+VAT for a year, and we think the legal helpline alone justifies this cost, let alone the peace of mind that should HMRC enquire into your affairs, you will have confidient and experienced accountants looking after you, at no further cost to yourself, even for long, in-depth enquiries.
